The Nigeria Immigration Service has opened its portal for the 2023 recruitment for interested applicants across the country. The recruitment is open to applicants who want to apply for the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board.
The application process began on Monday, January 16, 2023, and will end after two weeks, that is January 30, 2023.
All applications must be made online, and candidates are advised to print out the Referee forms which must be completed for submission during the Screening.

Positions available include Superintendent Cadre, Inspectorate Cadre, and Assistant Cadre, with specific qualifications required for each.

Statutory Requirements for the 2023 Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment.
Category A: Superintendent Cadre:
- Superintendent of Immigration (SI) with a compass 11 professional qualification (Doctors): Applicants must have a first degree in MBBS from a recognized institution of higher learning and an NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
- Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) with a CONPASS 10 professional qualification (pharmacists): Applicants must have a first degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution of higher learning and an NYSC discharge/exemption certificate.
- Assistant Superintendent of Immigration II (ASI) with a CONPASS 08 qualification: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree, Higher National Diploma, or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
Category B: Inspectorate Cadre:
- Assistant Inspector Immigration (All) with a General Duty CONPASS 06 qualification: Applicants must have a National Diploma, NCE or Advance NABTEB from recognized institutions.
Category C: Assistant Cadre:
- Immigration Assistant (IA I11) with a CONPASS 03 General Duty qualification: Applicants must have GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE/NECO, GCE or its equivalent with a minimum of 4 credits in not more than two sittings, which must include English and Mathematics.
- Immigration Assistant III (IA III) with a CONPASS 03 Artisans qualification: a) motor driver b) Mechanic: Applicants must have ordinary level SSCE or its equivalents and appropriate trade test certificate.
Nigeria Immigration Service Recruitment General Requirements.
- All applicants must be Nigerians by birth, provide a National Identity Number, copies of certificates, and certificates of medical fitness from government-recognized hospitals.
- A drug test is also required for all applicants, and applicants must not be financially embarrassed.
- Age limits for applicants range from 18 to 30 years, with exceptions for doctors and pharmacists who must not be more than 35 years.
- Computer literacy is not a requirement but is considered an advantage, and chest measurement applies to men only and must not be less than 0.87.
- Failure to submit a certificate or qualification during documentation will not be accepted after the recruitment.
- Candidates with multiple applications will be disqualified, and the recruitment exam mode will be a Computer Based Test for shortlisted candidates, with a date and time to be communicated.
Important information.
- Financial stability: The NIS has not specified a required financial status for applicants, but they must not be in a state of financial difficulty.
- Age limits: All applicants must be between 18 and 30 years old, except for doctors and pharmacists who must not be older than 35 years.
- Computer Literacy: While it is not a requirement, having computer skills is considered an advantage by the NIS.
- Chest measurement: This requirement only applies to male applicants and must not be less than 0.87 inches.
- Failure to submit the certificate: The NIS will not accept any certificates or qualifications that were not declared and accepted during the documentation process.
- Disqualification: Candidates who submit multiple applications will be disqualified.
