The Inspector General of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has recently launched the Stolen Vehicle Report Portal (SVRP) for victims of car theft in the country. One of the core responsibility of the Force is to protect the lives and properties of the citizens, hence, the implementation of this portal.

The NPF Stolen Vehicle Report Portal link is https://reportcmr.npf.gov.ng/. The general public is to utilise this website in the case of car theft.

According to the official statement on the Nigeria police force stolen vehicle report portal, the aim of creating the website is for members of the general public to report their stolen vehicles that are yet to be recovered which spans from 1st January, 2018.

The NPF Central Motor Registry (CMR) portal is now accessible via (https://reportcmr.npf.gov.ng).

How to Properly Report Car Theft on the NPF CMR Stolen Vehicle Report Portal.

Affected citizens should visit the Nigeria Police Central Motor Registry website online via https://reportcmr.npf.gov.ng. Then click on “Get Started”.

Once the page opens, select your profile type either “Individual or Corporate”, Select Identification type (National Driver’s Licence or National Identification Number(NIN). While for Corporate profile type, select between Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) or Tax Identification Number (TIN). After that, enter the selected identification number in the box provided below and click “Verify”.

Create Profile

After successfully verifying your identification number, you will be prompted to confirm reporter’s telephone number. Go ahead and select YES. If you do not have such number, select NO so that you will be asked to enter a new number.

Go ahead fill in the stolen car information and wait for a call back from the Nigeria Police Force.
