New Holiday Traditions – Wit & Delight

This year, I’m focusing on establishing holiday traditions with the family! Instead of packing all I can do is change cookies! Secret Santa! A holiday!—I hope the kids they will take with me will remember when they grow up with their families. Hopefully, my list of holiday traditions will help you focus on the activities you want to do with the people close to you in your life. From baking cookies with your friends to going on vacation, there are many ways to make the holidays special however you think the people in your life will like them the most.

New: Setting up our Concordville Holiday Village

All product photos by Terrain

City of Concordville $34 – $98

I have fond memories of setting up the Christmas village every year, and I’m excited to create new memories with my kids setting up our holiday village this year. Either way Concordville The piece is made of zinc and written in one year. You can expand your collection over the years (and one day pass it down to the next generation).

All round decorations

Baked Potato Glass Ornament $32

Last year, I started collecting themed ornaments that represent special things from the past year. This year? Baked potato garnishes are similar to the base My daughter’s Halloween costume this year. It’s a fun way to remember all the good times we had throughout the year and share them with our friends and family during the holidays.

03

Tree topper

Tree Starry Snowflake Topper $34

Another thing on my list is buying a special tree topper every year. Whether it’s an angel or a star, these little ornaments add that special touch that makes our Christmas tree complete. Plus, it will be fun to see how our jewelry changes over time as we collect more pieces each holiday season!

04

New: Draw the Nutcracker

I have a growing collection of nutcrackers that I don’t care for most of them (most are picked up at Goodwill) but my kids don’t mind. They name them, change the show, and always find new things to find out about their designs, hairstyles, etc. So, this year, I found some plain nutcrackers at the craft store and put an acrylic painting on them to decorate. They are proud! I can’t wait to see how their designs evolve over the years.

05

A tray of cookies for Santa

Fair Isle Round Ceramic Platter $48

On Christmas Eve, we set out a tray of cookies and cocoa for Santa, and carrots and water for the reindeer. Children are very careful in choosing the perfect cookies.

06

Glogg (distilled wine)

Cocktail Kit $26

After all, what would Christmas be without alcohol? My mother did not jump to do this. It takes me back to my college years, sharing many glasses of this wine with my brother and sister before going to a candlelit church service. (I am adding art wine accessories on my list this year!)

What holiday traditions are you implementing this year?
